Baskets add warmth and a sense of comfort to our homes. I prefer baskets for storage as they can be displayed openly as part of the decor. However, over time, baskets can become quite dusty and look dull. Today we are going to revitalize our baskets and make them look fresh and youthful again. You will need some Oil Soap such as Murphy’s Oil Soap and a spray bottle.

Begin by gathering all the baskets in your home. Take out any items in the baskets before you begin cleaning them.

Next, spray down the basket with a mixture of 1/4 part Murphy’s Oil Soap and 3/4 water. Spray the basket thoroughly to wet the entire surface. If you have a multitude of baskets, you may want to use a bin of water and Murphy’s Oil Soap. Just dip the baskets in the solution for just a few seconds swishing to allow the entire surface and nooks and crannies of the basket to be flushed with the solution. This process will remove much of the layers of dust from the crevices of the basket leaving it clean and newer looking.  Moreover, this process will rejuvenate your baskets and clean all the dust making them healthier to have in your home. the baskets drip for a few seconds and then either put outside to dry and air out, or place on a towel until dry.  This cleaning process also works well for shells!
