Finding Serenity
The best product that I have found for a deep cleaning and long lasting shine, is Never Dull Wadding Polish. It comes in a tin and is a thick wadding. It immediately removes tarnish and creates a lustrous shine. After wiping the item with the Never Dull wadding, lightly wipe your item with a soft cloth to remove additional tarnish. Do not rinse the silver item as the polish also helps reduce tarnish for quite a while. Store your silver in felt fabric in an airtight container such as a plastic bin. The absence of air reduces the tarnish. This will reduce the amount of polishing needed.
Silver pieces used as decorative elements enhance the feel of your home. A silver picture frame or collection of frames adds a timeless beauty. A silver trumpet vase with hyacinths in the springtime are the quintessential vignette of the changing seasons. A silver platter with sentimental items captures a sense of connection and nostalgia. Returning to one of the basic caveats of Transformational Organization: utilizing what you have to enhance your life: utilize these treasures to enhance your daily living and self-expression.
So get out those heirloom treasures and give them a good clean. Remember to photograph and inventory these items. If possible, photograph the maker’s mark to have on record. If the piece has any numbers engraved on it, record these numbers too. In the case of a theft, the police can track items sold to pawnshops by these numbers and you may end up helping to catch a criminal.
Just a note: The Never Dull Wadding Polish works well on jewelry too. It polishes all types of metal so grab those other metal pieces and clean away. There, now that’s done and on to some self pampering routines.
