Stationary Center

In these current times, electronic mail has become the standard by which to send greetings and mark special occasions. However, everyone loves to get something special in the traditional mail. You remember the feeling of opening a beautiful card expressing joy at some special event you are celebrating. Share that joy and happiness by creating a Stationary Center in which you will house cards and necessary items to send to your most cherished friends and family. You will become a treasured friend and special relative when you recognize special events in other people’s lives.  However, in these busy and chaotic times it is challenging to get cards in the mail to celebrate special days and times.  Take some time today to establish a Stationary Center and follow the suggestions to enrich the lives of others.

Dedicate a space to create a stationary center.  It could be a drawer or box or cabinet.  In this area, you will need to supply cards, stamps, and other necessities.  It would be wise to keep your address book here with current addresses for those whom would like to send things to.  Perhaps you have a favorite pen or would like to upgrade your stationary center by purchasing wonderful stationary for sending special messages to loved ones. Collect all the cards, stationary and envelopes, stamps, etc. Perhaps you would like to make your own greeting cards with your craft supplies (a great project for your creative/spiritual day).   Check with your local stationary store for when they will be running sales on cards like buy-one-get-one-free sales.  This is the time to stock up on cards for the next few months.  Make a list of all the people to whom you would like to send cards and take that to the store with you.  Then purchase cards for these people.  When you return home, put a post it note on the card with the person’s name and date the card should be sent to arrive on time. Cards that need to be mailed in the next month can be stored in your current bill file. You can find in most stationary stores, a card organizer that has pockets to store the cards in.  There is usually space provided for you to write the names and birthdates of cherished love ones.  If you buy sympathy, get well, and congratulations cards now too, you will always have a few cards to send on a moment’s notice.  You will not believe the difference that this will make in the lives of very special people.

Note:  Replenish stamps when you take your weekly or monthly trip to the post office to restock your office needs as well.
