Hello again. Today we are going to continue our Thematic Organization and gather and organize all of the craft/art items. This is beneficial for our Creative Days embedded in our calendar. Creating is a higher form of intelligence and releases our ingenuity. Creativity is also a form of self expression and nurtures our spirit and souls. Utilizing our craft items ensures we are capitalizing on our resources and investment in these items. Let’s begin by gathering all the craft and art items you currently own. Go about the house and bring all the item pertaining to this category to a central location. Next, find some storage devices in which to house these items. Try to find an area of your home where you could efficiently utilize these resources. Start to categorize your items into groups such as: paints, brushes, sewing, paper crafts, glitters, stamping items, scrapbooking, clay, tile, plaster, soapmaking, etc. Having a rack or shelving unit with bins or baskets helps to keep all these items in one location so that they are easier to access.  If you have a small table on which you can create your masterpieces also help. The perfect scenario  would to create a “craft corner” so that you can have a peaceful place in which to work.

Now that you have gathered these items, begin to plan some projects to utilize them. If you have stamping supplies, why not make special cards for loved ones? Tile? Make a tiled bed tray using a regular bed tray (I find these at garage sales for a dollar or two). These make great gifts for those who are ill or convalescing. Paints? Why not plan a family evening of painting? You can purchase inexpensive canvases and inspire your children to create. We once had all the neighborhood teens over for a painting day. They each painted a small canvas and we hung them in the media room where all the teens congregated. It made each young adult feel that they we welcome and loved in our home. (Remember it takes a village). You probably get the point so get inspired and create something wonderful as a gift or an item to complement your decor!!
