Luggage

IMAG0041Today we are going to prepare the luggage. I see a trip in your near future as the Transformational Organization process will allow you more time, energy and resources to spend some time traveling and taking a mini or maxi vacation. Having your luggage in good order will lessen your stress as you try to prepare for business trips or family emergencies. Also, you may find something you thought was lost left in your luggage. Let’s get started:

You will need:

  • Soft, lint free cloth
  • Spray Upholstery cleaner
  • Spray Cleaner
  • Sachets or Fabric Softener Sheets
  • Vacuum
  • Candle

Now begin by opening all the zippers and compartments on each piece of luggage. Check each compartment for forgotten items. Then using the vacuum attachment for upholstery, vacuum the inside of each compartment and the entire exterior of the luggage. Spray the upholstery cleaner on the cloth and clean all the fabric surfaces to remove any dirt. If you have luggage that is hard sided, use some spray cleaner on the cloth to clean the outside surfaces. Using the candle, rub the zippers to make it easier to zip them open and closed. Now that you have complete all this, you may want to air your luggage out for a few hours to freshen the inside and outside.

Now before storing the luggage again, insert a Fabric Softener Sheet or scented sachet into each piece of luggage to keep it smelling fresh. Ensure that each piece is dry before storing.

At this time you may want to assemble some small traveling toiletry kits so that you won’t have to worry about forgetting something when you are traveling. Items such as an extra toothbrush, travel sized toothpaste, antiperspirant, shampoo, conditioner, dental floss, sewing kit, mouthwash, first aid kit  and pain reliever are all essential items in the case that you forget something while traveling.  These items can easily be found in travel sizes  inexpensively at the dollar store or Walmart. You can put these into a small purse, clutch or aftershave kit to keep in your linen closet for that unplanned trip that is sure to pop up.
