In current times, junk mail in your mail box can lead to identity theft or credit card fraud. The junk mail that you receive should be properly disposed of. This can be achieved by shredding it.  It is unwise to put anything with personal information into the garbage.  Times have changed and you must allow yourself to come out of denial to protect yourself.  Celebrate shredding!! Shred any junk mail that has any personal information. I find it prudent to shred all documents that are unwanted.

Here’s a hint:  if you have pets such as hamsters, guinea pigs or birds that require bedding, you can use the shredded paper for bedding.  Just be sure to remove any envelopes that have plastic windows first.  Shred the papers and transfer the newly shredded paper to a bin or plastic garbage bag. Use these for pet bedding.  Then shred the envelopes with plastic windows.  Put into a paper bag and recycle.  You are saving money by not purchasing pet bedding and you can also throw the used paper bedding into the composter!!!

Another use for the shredded paper is to use for packing material.  Next time you send a package, you will have plenty of biodegradable material for packing.  No more foam peanuts!!
